brynymor road in BrynmillBrynmill, with its mix of terraced houses, has long been the main student area for Swansea. Apart from students, it is mainly a middle class family area, chosen for its local schools and its convenience for the city centre and for the university. The walk to the university takes 10 to 15 minutes and the city is about 20 minutes away on foot. Several bus routes pass through here as well.

Composed mainly of Victorian and Edwardian housing, the area is hilly, but it includes good local shopping, in particular the shops of Bryn y Mor road. The Guildhall, St Helens Rugby and Cricket Ground, are important local features, and there are local churches and two parks in the area. There is no shortage of cafes, bars and restaurants serving everything from fast food to fine eating.

The area is bounded by Brynmill and Singleton Parks to the West, the beach and Swansea Bay to the South, by the residential area of Uplands to the North and by routes into the City to the East.

Transport to the City Centre

The no.19 is one amongst a number of buses from Brynmill to the City Centre. There is also the Metro route which passes by the Slip and St Helens at the bottom of Brynmill on its way between the University and the City Centre.

If you live close to Bryn Road or King Edward road, the nos 42, 43 and 116 pass along this route.

Transport to the University

Although it is most likely you will walk as Swansea University is such a short distance, the no.42 travels via Brynmill if you need a bus to get to the University.
